TITLE: CATEGORY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
DIVISION: US COMPANY
REPORTS TO: REGIONAL MARKETING MANAGER or SENIOR CATEGORY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER SUPERVISES: N/A
LOCATIONS: MULTIPLE
TRAVEL: 10-25%
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Summary – The responsibilities of this position will include multi-tasking which demands assertive management skills, an ability to resolve complex problems, understanding of market dynamics and the ability to employ good decision making skills.
Specific responsibilities include:
Providing leadership support in the areas of financial management, promotion analysis, category management, KPI reporting, brand strategy, account planning, marketing/business development coordination, and account presentations.
Analyze, penetrate and strategize top growth accounts for all the categories in which Colgate-Palmolive competes.
Look for opportunities within CP and its accounts to serve up win-win scenarios utilizing technical tools such as the merchandising system manager.
Coordinate trade funding support with sales through close interaction with business development, finance, promotion management and marketing.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- BA Degree, MBA a plus
- Consumer manufacturer/broker/trade background
- 2+ years key account experience with a syndicated service
- 2+ years category management experience
- Merchandising expertise in the consumer brand industry
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Nielsen
- Understanding of consumer data applications
- Candidates should be mobile throughout the United States
