DESCRIPTION
Purpose of Position:
This position develops and manages all central region retail category management programs for fresh-cut and whole produce, to facilitate the company's sales and profit building plans with key accounts.
Accountabilities:
Creates and manages all assigned retailer category management programs for central region accounts. Develops commodity and customer specific category management initiatives including creating planograms, recommending product mixes and analyzing pricing.
Analyzes and interprets data including point-of-sale, syndicated and consumer insight data. Evaluates and assesses performance of promotional initiatives, assist sales staff and retailers to develop promotional calendars.
Trains and advises sales teams and retailers on category management concepts.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, marketing or quantitative analysis.
Must have previous Category Management/Analysis experience (position
requires a clear and comprehensive knowledge of retail category management concepts)
2 to 3 years of branded CPG or perishable goods experience.
Experience working with retailer/point-of-sale and syndicated (IRI; ACNielsen) data.
Excellent verbal, communication and negotiation skills.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated experience in developing presentation decks, planograms and working with key retail supermarket chains in North America.
Ability to work with key accounts in the framework of category management.
Ability to effectively interact with multiple levels of management internally and externally.
Superior analytical and presentation skills.
Working knowledge of Space Planning (by Intactix or similar) software.
Familiarity with consumer insight tools such as Spectra.
Self-directed, well organized, high energy and detailed oriented.
Willingness to travel 25% to 35% of the time.
Preferred but not Essential:
Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
Produce industry experience.
Merchandising experience.
