POSITION TITLE: Category Manager
LOCATION: Wilton, CT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Initiate and develop category management strategy utilizing syndicated data, consumer behavior research, merchandising and space management to position BDF as the cutting edge category leader in the Skin Care category.
- Transfer knowledge from category management initiatives to the organization to improve the sales and profitability of the company.
- Coordinate internal projects initiated by sales, marketing and external consulting services in the areas of space management, consumer behavior research and category leadership projects.
- Set specific objectives in accordance with industry trends, competitive pressures and management direction; create and update documentation adaptable for multiple uses.
- Provide focus to feasibility studies for new item launches from an expertise in the consumer / retailer relationship.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 2 years of category management experience in consumer product sales or marketing, with direct experience in mass, grocery, or long trades. Health and Beauty aids industry experience a plus.
- Must have conceptual, and preferably practical, knowledge of category management programs and methodology
- Ability to create compelling and insightful sales presentations.
- Experience using AC Nielsen, IRI, and/or account level POS data
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
