Key Job Responsibilities:

In an effort to address the growing need for greater clarity in areas of strategic retail brand development and consumer research, the Consumer Insight team is seeking to fill the position of Consumer Research Associate. The Consumer Research Associate will be a key contributor in helping assess retail, market, consumer, and socio-economic trends via a unique combination of syndicated sales and consumer data, as well as several primary and secondary sources. Qualified candidates should be comfortable communicating innovative insights not just in written form, but also verbally, numerically and graphically depending on the audience needs. This is a tremendous opportunity for an associate to work with a truly dynamic team and gain valuable experience in the areas of strategic analysis, consumer understanding, and category planning.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Using all available syndicated resources (i.e. MRI, Spectra, Nielsen), analyze syndicated consumer and sales data to identify consumer trends and identify potential development opportunities for our customers and principals;

  • Act as a liaison between retail account teams and corporate resource center in the areas of consumer research and market trends;

  • Assist with marketing/branding projects and presentations;

  • Participate in cross-functional teams to identify, develop and implement programs in support of our overall consumer research initiatives;

  • Balance projects that are both large and small (strategic in nature as well as ad-hoc);

  • Train others in the use and interpretation of syndicated consumer data and analytics in general

Key Requirements:

  • Marketing research experience a must;

  • 1-3 years of experience in retail analytics, category management, marketing planning and consultation (this could come from a top tier consumer packaged goods company, management consultant, syndicated data company or retailer)

  • Strong communication skills (verbal communication and presentation skills, business writing)

  • Self starter: understands job responsibilities and manages self to achieve objectives

  • Strong abilities to independently set priorities and multitask

  • Someone who seeks continuous improvement, both in self and in work processes

  • Experience with syndicated data (ex: Spectra, MRI, IRI, Nielsen)

  • Intermediate to advanced PC skills – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to present results and solutions

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.

  • Eligible to work in US
