Dr. Brian Harris
Founder and Co-Chairman, The Partnering Group
Dr. Harris is an internationally recognized pioneer and innovative thought leader in the field of retailing and consumer products marketing. He has pioneered and successfully brought into global adoption two of the most significant developments in the retailing and consumer products marketing industry -- Computerized Shelf Space Management and Category Management. In 1983, Dr. Harris co-founded ABA Groups which developed the Apollo Space Management System.
He is recognized around the world as the “father of Category Management”. He co-authored the U.S., European, and Brazilian ECR Category Management Best Practices Reports. In 1990, Dr. Harris co-founded The Partnering Group to develop and implement his business methods, including Category Management. He has successfully implemented his business methods in leading retailers, wholesalers, and product manufacturers in over 25 countries and has trained over 5,000 retailer and manufacturer managers in these business methods.
Dr. Harris has his Ph.D. in Marketing from Michigan State University, an MBA and a Bachelor in Economics.

Biography
Win is credited with introducing retailer/suppler partnering in the US market in 1985; later expanding the concept to Australia, Mexico and Asia. He is also recognized as one of the original architects of category management, implementing and evolving the concept at HEB Food and Drug beginning in 1991. He was a resource for the Joint Industry Project on ECR: The Category Management Report, a resource for the Kellogg Graduate School of Management/Food Marketing Institute Category Management Series Implementation Guides and was the category management and partnering consultant for the ANTAD industry sponsored ECR project in Mexico. Win has written numerous articles on partnering, category management and related subjects. He has been a guest speaker on these subjects for the Strategic Planning Forum, Food Marketing Institute, Grocery Manufacturers Association, Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors, Canadian Food Brokers Association, Private Label Manufacturers Association and for numerous other industry and corporate affairs. He is a guest lecturer at the Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University and is utilized by Bank of America Securities as a food and beverage expert.
Prior to entering the consulting profession 23 years ago, he compiled an impressive record of achievement in senior management positions with General Foods, American Brands, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Warner Communications and Schering Plough.
Win has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Syracuse University.
